The Best Lesson....

This morning I was perusing the net and came across this.....

I love this book, and its timeless lesson. Isn't it funny how one picture from a children's book can put things in perspective?- For some reason I needed this today.

Oh and this picture was accompanied by a great blog entry: http://www.thisisreverb.com/2009/05/matrix.html. Read It.

Two lessons in one! I liked the reminder- especially since I find myself with this problem, which is a very gross problem to have.

What to do with Lemons

I LOVE Lemons

I think they're rad, look super cheery, and are one of the most useful ingredients. Lucky for this lemon lovin gal I get bags and bags of them each spring from my parents, and this year Danny's rockin parents.

Thanks to Charlie, Danny's dad, not one of these little guys will go to waste this year!

He freezes the lemon juice into ice cubes.

I thought this was a clever idea, and know it will come in so handy when I need lemon juice in non-citrus season (I am not down with spending $3 on a lemon from some far away land)

Also, I checked out the conversion and 1 ice cube = 1 table spoon. How easy is that!?

Can I get a woot woot for fresh lemonade all year round!?

Happy May Day

Let me start out with a confession, I have had no clue what Mayday was until about 5 minutes ago... luckily for me Wikipedia did :)

"Wikipedia is the best thing ever. Anyone in the world can write anything they want about any subject, so you know you are getting the best possible information. "- Micheal Scott

So according to this superior source May Day is celebrated by making May baskets, which are usually filled with flowers or treats and left at someones doorstep. The basket giver would ring the bell and run away. The person receiving the basket would try to catch the fleeing giver. If they caught the person, a kiss was to be exchanged.

People also celebrate this lovely day by creating Maypoles.

Didn't you dream of Maypoles as a kid? I did.

On another note I did a google image search for "Happy May Day" and this popped up. hehe Happy May Day to you and yours!
