Specifically This:
Well not actually that since I don't know that dude, but we will be attending an ugly sweater party tonight. Yippee!
Then... THEN
There will be shopping tomorrow, and a GINORMOUS holiday party at a friends. With a Band. And Food. And hopefully sequence.
Then... THEN... TTTHHHHEEEENNNN
Sunday= Christmas Partay with my fam, since I will be jetting off to the winter wonder land that is South Dakota and Colorado for Christmas.
Pretty rad line up, right?

Monday

Today I dropped off some holiday goodies to one of my customers and stated that "well... since today is Friday, I think they will be here on Monday or Tuesday." The problem with this statement.... today is MONDAY! I am super competent, just can't keep my days straight.

My Sure Cure for the Grumpies

A few weeks ago I was wallowing in my lack of social life due to being on homework house arrest, when my little brother, Nick, Came to my rescue with this:

At first I laughed hysterically. Oh Miley, you look almost as awkward as me when you dance...

But this quickly evolved into a deep love. Eventually it was Rhonda and I driving to the turkey trot with this song on repeat, much to her three year old niece's dismay (you see she is a true Miley fan and prefers the more obscure songs).

Not to mention this video reminds me of Country Thunder.... what if Miley was at CT this year!? Squeeee! I get excited just thinking about it!

Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Christoper Elbow

Last Wednesday I did my Boss Lady a favor and dropped her cute little granddaughter and her (still buzzed/wasted from the previous night) friend off at the airport. 7am. Despite how it sounds it wasn’t bad. In fact, it was kind of fun to pick up two freshman girls from the dorms, who were ready to fly home for the first time since departing the nest… sigh, those were the days!

Wait. I never lived in the dorms, and my parents have never lived more than 20 miles away from me… but a girl can live vicariously, right?

Anyhow, here comes the point. As a thank you my boss gave me the most adorable chocolates I have ever seen in my entire existence! If there were an America’s Next Top Chocolates, these would win!

Now presenting Christopher Elbow Chocolates:

Aren’t they way cute? I bet they taste great, would make me skinnier, smarter, and more beautiful (because that’s what chocolate does, duh!) but I just can’t bring myself to eat them, it seems too destructive…. Like that time I had a dream that I purposefully broke all the ink thingies on clothes to ruin them… what a horrible thing to do subconscious, Shame On You!

Just thought I would share this cute little treat with ya’ll.

Happiness is an XXL circus tent

Today I got a little giddy when I was invited to view my Aunt Rachel's snapfish album of Mattalies wedding.
.
Unfortunately, three pictures into the 714 picture album was this horrific scene:
Oh and here is picture number four:

SEXY SEXY SEXY

This lovelyness was at the wedding rehearsal, and it was negative 764 degrees outside- so to keep warm I had to borrow my uncle Tom's XXL Kenneth Cole jacket. I promise there is a cute dress hiding under that circus tent. There is my explanation for the outfit.

As for the face... there really isn't any excuse. I guess that is just how I look at wedding rehearsals. God Help Me!

Guess who's coming to dinner!?

Lunch actually, but the sentiment is the same.

THE SCHOCK'S! (the Boys parents)

I guess it's official, after almost two years of dating, Danny and I have decided that things are just too perfect, and that we should probably shake it up.... How are we going to do this you may ask? Well by introducing my quirky family to his lovely parents.

YES... My Mom, Dad, Step mom-Diane, three siblings birthed of the aforementioned women, four dogs, one fat cat, and a partridge in a pear tree.
(one of these things will not be attending the lunch, can you guess which one?)
Please say a prayer for the Schock's, they no not what they are going to embark on.

This post is actually a request more than an actual post: What should I serve for this little black Friday luncheon???

Oh and I wanted to share my coping mechanism...

Any time things get a little intense, I will close my eyes and envision this:

I finally made it through Science and Social Studies Methods! and I am pretty sure that I got out with a big fat A (despite splatering red food coloring on the first row last night)! Partly because I was obsessive compulsive about my assignments .This is a new development, I have NEVER been obsessive compulsive about anything, well anything but the below list:

* Milk, and if it has crusties at the top of the jug (gross)
* Sheets that someone else may or may not have slept on (double gross)
* Having clean feet, this my largest camping challenge. Out door peeing? BRING IT!
* Mason Jennings
* The Mayan Calendar
* Twilight- the books, I can't get down with the movies.
* Beating Tracy at workouts :)
.
One thing that I NEVER was obsessive compulsive about- HOMEWORK!
.
Anyhow, to Celebrate I had a fatty bagel this morning with pumpkin cream cheese.
.
This reminds me, I would like to amend my above statement to include pumpkin flavored things during the fall. I am a little obsessive compulsive about that too... coffee, cream cheese, cake, beer.... Wow those french fries look delectable, do you think I could get pumpkin added to them?
.
I digress...
.
The Bagel:

I also spent some homework free time surfing the web and saw this (at Idiy):

This is the twin sister to the banner that I had hanging up at Mattalies shower, and to think my one original, un-stolen idea, is in reality not original.

I love it though. Now it lives on a large mirror in my bedroom. This way every morning when I awake I can think CELEBRATE!

- The semester is almost over!

- It is a 2 and 1/2 day week!

- I will be eating 5000+ calories this Thursday (damn you good morning America!)

- Pumpkin Flavor.

CELEBRATE!

We are half way there!

As in half way to Friday.
I'm not sure why, but the whole "hump day" saying just doesn't sit well with me. Maybe it's because of the little perv who is homesteaded between my frontal and parietal lobe?
Perv.

In unrealated breaking news-Last night I took a needed break from climbing Mt. Homework, and had a nice dinner with the boy, he made interesting baked ziti.

Mt. Homeworkagitoangas:
Want to hear something sad? We couldn't remember that last time we did something with just the two of us :(

Want to hear something happy? We both have very full lives with great friends and family (SHOUT OUT!)

Anyhoo, there really was no reason for this post... just a mental break I guess.
Well I'm off to school.
Here is a bike:

Mr. and Mrs. "Spahlinsky"

Okay, it is actually Mr. & Mrs Spahle, but I am still getting used to Natalie having a new last name!

Natalie and Matt were married this weekend in Oracle at Nat's parents home. I feel like the theme was "it takes a village", since there were so many people involved in every detail of the wedding. This made the wedding feel so very special and personal.
Here is the handsome couple!

Natalie and Matt are no run of the mill couple, and I wouldn't expect a wedding that was either. The ceremony started with Steve (Bridget's Man) playing the piano, and Natalie was given away by both her mother and father.

This seemed so natural for the Opinksky's, and was so very touching since the entire family has always been so close. Nat's parent, both mother and father, have played a tremendous role in her life. While being given away by both parents isn't traditional, it fit this wedding so well.
Then came the ceremony.
It was officiated by a good friend of the couple who gave a sweet message and conclude by asking the crowd a single question... no not the obligatory "speak now or forever hold your peace", rather he turned to the crowd and asked "what is love?". It was so sweet to see family members and friends get up and share what love was to them.

When it was time to deliver the vows Natalie surprised the crowd with a little song and dance to conclude...

Guess who her backup singers were... yup us bridesmaids with our phenomenal voices!

"I will follow him, follow him wherever he may go, there isn't an ocean to deep, a mountain so high it could keep, keep me away"

It was rad.

Like I said this was a special wedding, and I am so please to have Matt as a new cousin (although I'm not sure that is how it works!)

Cheers!

Pst stay tuned as there will be more to come of the fabulous reception and GOOSHERS!

Going to Oracle... "Mattalie" (Matt and Natalie) are getting Married!
(She would be horrified if she saw that I posted this picture, but she doesn't read blogs so HA!)

Look what Danny and I got the radicool couple: I love that it isn't a toaster! :) On a different note- Can I get a HOOYA for the Suns going 8-1!?

Dear Phoenix Suns,

I am sorry that I stopped believing in you last season, and that I threw a tantrum when Mike D'Antoni was no longer with us. I still love love you.

Forgive me?

- Becca

p.s. the gorilla is still quite frightening.

Have a fancy Weekend!
I intend to bask in the love!

I Scream, You Scream, We all Scream for SUSHI!

Last night Rhonda and I took Kaye out to dinner for her 27th birthday. TWENTY SEVEN calls for celebratory sushi.
Desperately seeking sushi, we landed at Four Seasons Sushi, off of Higley and Baseline.

This place is nothing incredible- not like the awkwardly trendy, and offensively expensive places you find in snotsdale, and the waitress did ask if they "have saki?" ....!

BUT, the food was pretty delish, and their happy hour is something to write home (or the world wide web) about.
We got four sushi rolls, two hot saki's, and one edamame for
$23!!!! My frugal granny would be so proud!
.
You should try this place... their happy hour is daily from 4pm-7pm.
ps... does this picture make your day a little brighter? I can't help but love it a little. Okay, ALOT.

Lots of Love and Raw Fishies- Bec

On days like this...

I can think of nothing I'd prefer to be doing, than peddling around town, and enjoying the gorgeous weather.
I miss riding my bike. Its tires are flat due to neglect.

Post It Love

It's Monday. Monday, of all days, is the one that I would miss least if it were to fly to the moon and never return.
.
However, this Monday morning hasn't been all that bad. I woke up with Birdman laying right next to me, resting his harry little head on my arm... he just wanted me to wake up and scratch his belly for a while. Then, traffic wasn't bad- Thank you Columbus Day! Oh and Mattalies shower went splendidly. Wait wait there is more- the Cards won.
Does a happy Sunday equate to a content Monday?
.
On another note... check out this cute little clip. It reminds me so much of 500 days of Summer. Which is one of those movies that kind of sticks with me... I'll be in the produce section and all of the sudden be thinking about laying on a mattress in the middle of a department store.

Grinning

It's Friday!
This weekend means:
Natalie and Matt's Coed Shower!
Which in turn means lots of cookin', craftin', and laghin'
Can't wait :)

For Every Season TURN TURN TURN

When I left the house this morning I was so pleased at the dark sky, smell of rain, and chilly (for Arizona) temperature.
.
WHY HELLO THERE FALL!
It is nice to see you, and that lovely pashmina you are wearing.

.
It is finally starting to feel like Fall, which is arguably my favorite season. (if I'm being honest each season is arguably my favorite. For this posts sake Fall, and it's lovely pashmina, is my very FAVORITE season).

5 Reason's Fall Should be YOUR favorite season too:

Five: The Changing Trees

I know, I know- we don't have this in Phoenix, but I know I always find time to head North and enjoy the changing seasons. I am sure you do as well. Oh gosh the colors make me swoon!
.

Four: The Smell

It is the crisp clean air floating through open windows carrying hints of cinnamon, freshly lit fireplaces, pumpkin, baked goods, and well seasonal gold canyon candles- I don't care what package it comes in, just give me that smell!

Three: The Gorgeous Days, and Nippy NightsI need that coat and mask for this fall! ....
.

Speaking of masks-

Two: The Holidays

Halloween.

Thanksgiving

(which is by far the best holiday, it is Christmas without the materialism!)

.

One: The Food

It is so warm, comforting, and Beautiful! An excuse to eat comfort food everyday? Sign me up, I mean sweaters are practically designed for hiding an Autumn bulge ;)

.
Bon Voyage Summer! I'm sure the Southern Hemisphere is thrilled you will be visiting! I know I will be overjoyed to see you in a few months....

But for now, my heart belongs to Fall.

Santa Barbara

I am feeling great after spending this past weekend in Santa Barbara. We made the eight hour drive for Danny's Cousin, Zaks wedding. It was a such sweet affair, in the most beautiful location!
.
This trip also made it official- I need to visit the beach regularly...
those negative ions really do the body and soul good!
.
You don't know about negative ions?? Read: http://www.webmd.com/balance/features/negative-ions-create-positive-vibes Happy Tuesday!

Pst... Jennifer! Come Here.

Happy Birthday to my Lovely, Beautiful, Clever, and Hysterical Friend.

Love you Lots (and this picture of you and Lilah)

Cheers to being in your late twenties! Can't wait to join you in being all mature and shiz ;)

WRONG WAY

I just saw someone driving backwards on the freeway. BACKWARDS. Oh wait it gets better, they were on a BRIDGE! as in elevated above the Earths floor.
.
I said a little prayer for their safety: Physical, and Mental.

I wonder if they were listening to Pinkerton like me. I tell you the nostalgia does crazy things to your mind.

"There's a Tourist in Every Heart"

Dear Las Vegas,
.
Thank you for hosting all us girls over the weekend. It was quite a ball of wild and crazy fun. I especially enjoyed the ghost bar, the brits, and rappin in the pool (of course).
.
I also wanted to let you know that I think this may be the end for us... We have had our fun in the past. I will never forget the reality tv stars, or waffles at 4 o'clock in the morning. Unfortunately I have matured, and as it turns out I am a girl whose nights must remain nights, and not turn into mornings. I am a girl who needs to go to church, not party in the city of sin.
.
You? Well you are Las Vegas. Which means there are thousands of starry eyed girls donning much too high of heels, and much too short of skirts lined up to take my place, and embark on all the magic you hold. (Less Carrot Top, I hope).
.
As for this girl? I will be resting my starry eyes turned bloodshot, and dreaming about more relaxing locals - such as Sun City.
.
Good Bye Las Vegas, I am sure we will meet again. I mean, a mid-life crisis is inevitable!

Let the Chincilli Festivities Begin!

I want my geese to lay gold eggs

Sure fire way to make me want to pull your hair and stick my tongue out at you? Act like spoiled jerk when everyone around you is working their butts off, and all for you!
Can I get a Heck Yeah for people who are appreciative and throw out a thank you every now and again?
.
Woowee I am a little fired up... I think I am well on my way to a burn out.
.
In other news, my friends, family, and border collie (who just got a hair cut) are still cool. I saw blink this weekend, which was equally cool. Oh-and I am listening to the Across the Universe Soundtrack... double cool!

Mason Jennings

Mason is tonight!
.
I think tonight may be the night where we fall in love and run away together. Although Danny will be there, and Jennings is married (I spent a good hour looking for a picture of the lucky lady to no avail. No, it isn't creepy stalker behavior, it is research!)
So tonight.... we are driving down to Tucson, eating some Mexican Food, and then settling in to Rialto Theater to be serenaded by the man himself. I can hardly contain myself :)
.
I am lovin' his new CD, although sometimes it makes me cry.
Good tears, thoughtful tears.

Tuesday Lunch Dates- Essence Bakery Edition

Rhonda and I have started a Tuesday lunch dates tradition (at least for the semester), and since neither of our boys have particularly adventurous pallets we decided to try a new and exciting restaurant each week.
First Stop:

This is a cute little Bakery & Cafe in Tempe, right off Hardy and University. They use organic and local foods, and are famous for their delicious French Macaroons. - We split a Carmel one and it was like eating a little piece of Heaven.

For lunch we both had an Organic mixed greens salad with pecans and red wine poached pears, and a grilled blue cheese sandwich. If you are a blue cheese fan I would highly recommend this.

Overall, super cute restaurant that makes me feel all kinds of girlie inside.

Next stop: Middle Eastern!

P.S. if any of you are available to join us for the lunch dates please do :)
